BEAVERS - Celebrating 25 years

Well it is hard to believe we are now reaching the end of our celebrations in Beavers and what a year we have had!

The group started with Commando Joe fitness afternoon back in March and a football tournament in June. Our fantastic County Circus theme was also in June was such a lot of fun with face painting, making juggling balls and learning lots of new skills such as stilt walking and throwing wet sponges There was a magic show and with 400 other Beavers from the County it was a hectic fun packed day making new friends.

There were several other small events including raising some funds for Francis House. Karen (Buzz) did a sky dive and raised £270 and the Beavers held an Open Night and invited their family and friends to come to a show. We sold cakes, drinks and raffle tickets and raised a further £130, so in total we were able to donate £400 from our group.

We have one more event to finish off the 12 months of celebrations with the Beavers going to Head Over Heels Fun centre later in January.

If you remember back to early last year, we advised that we were taking part in a Banner competition to see how far around the world it could travel. We are pleased to advise that the Banner has travelled to many places home and abroad, from places such as Cornwall, Scotland and Wales to China, Argentina, Mexico, New York, Paris, Bangladesh and Abu Dhabi. It has travelled almost 105,000 miles which is equivalent to about 4 times around the world!!
